The Man Who Transformed the Wood Veneer Industry – Gracious Veneers founder story

Mr. Thomaskutty P began his journey in the wood veneer industry in the early 1980s, working at India’s first veneer slicing mill in Cochin, Kerala. His deep passion for wood craftsmanship and technical expertise soon set him apart.

In 1993, he was called to Ahmedabad, where he took charge of production for one of today’s most renowned wood veneer panel manufacturers. During his tenure, he pioneered the development of smoked veneers and the mix-matched veneer series — innovations that revolutionized the veneer industry and continue to inspire design trends even today.

In 2008, his creative vision led to the development of rough-cut veneers, a breakthrough that earned international recognition when the company received an award at the Interzum Exhibition for outstanding innovation and design.

Mr. Thomaskutty’s relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation has not only shaped the modern veneer industry but also inspired a new generation of craftsmanship in wood.
